From Ancient Anga to Modern Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur's history reaches deep into the history of eastern India. The official district history records the region's association with ancient Anga and Champa and describes its changing political history through the Maurya, Gupta, post-Gupta and Pala periods.

Vikramshila and the Pala period
